Behavioral Health Services at Latrobe Hospital

At Independence Health System, in our Behavioral Health Services, we seek to create an empowering environment so individuals can set their path to recovery, accomplish goals and reconnect with family, friends, the community and their own lives. In Westmoreland County, Independence Behavioral Health services are located in two locations, Latrobe, and Westmoreland campuses, separated by age. Latrobe serves adolescents ages 5 to 18 and Westmoreland services adults. The comprehensive program includes child/adolescent and adult inpatient services, adult acute partial hospital care, child/adolescent and adult outpatient clinics, school based mental health program, a community psychiatric nursing home program and a crisis response center, as well as the largest community-based recovery program in southwestern Pennsylvania. Strategic planning has always identified behavioral health as an imperative service line that remains an important priority today. The child/adolescent inpatient program at Latrobe Hospital is undergoing an expansion from 11 to 23 beds, with a timeline for completion in early 2025.
